I love how the lake is continually changing. A few hours after I took this, it was completely gone but reformed into part of the wall of ice and snow that the waves pushed in toward the shore.
This is Lake Erie, taken in Sheffield Lake, OH on February 20, 2016.
Lake Erie didn’t really freeze in mid-wave, but it sure looks like it. There were a lot of interesting formations yesterday that won’t look the same tomorrow.
The sky really was purple. Can’t think of anything that rhymes with purple to finish the poem. Oh well.
This is what happens when the air temp is 12 degrees and the water temp is 45 degrees. By comparison, the water has to feel a lot warmer, which makes Polar Bear swimming a little more understandable. Just a little.
After many unsuccessful attempts, this tern finally snagged a fish.
